Who we are

PERSEID started as an idea in Shebenik, where the experiences that were later developed at Star Campers Albania also took shape. Nights under the stars, walks and meetings with local people showed that tourism can create opportunities for a community and encourage care for nature. In 2026, this idea was registered by court decision as a non-profit organization.

Through Shebenik Egnatia Explorers and Star Campers Albania we have done continuous work to create experiences in nature and promote tourist destinations in Albania, especially rural areas and lesser-known places. Along this journey we have collaborated with local, national and international organisations. The field experience and the people we met strengthened the desire to continue this work with a broader mission. Out of that desire PERSEID took shape.

Today, PERSEID extends that experience into sustainable tourism, innovation, environmental education and community development. Our aim is to create projects together with the people of the country, so that the value they carry stays in the community.

Shebenik Egnatia Explorers was recognised with two wins in the National Competition for Green Businesses, in 2022 and 2024. In cooperation with Europe House, in 2024 an activity was organised in Shebenik that combined walking, camping and sky observation. Star Campers Albania won the regional Butterfly Innovation Award in 2025 and was selected as a finalist for the #ForOurPlanet Green Skills Award in 2026. These results belong to the initiatives that preceded PERSEID.
